Outcomes - Ministry Like Jesus
"The one who believes in me will also do the works that I do" John 14:12 (NRSV)
For years I thought that "the works" Jesus was referring to were the miracles He performed. Then I saw two things:
Jesus continually said that He didn't do the miracles, but that they came from the Father;
As I looked at a building one day I realised that it represented the miracle, sign, wonder, healing or deliverance that had been performed, while "the works" were all the things that had gone into getting that building erected;
Jesus was clearly saying that if we followed His methods we, also, would see great results.
This page is dedicated to showing how His 'works' work.

Deliverance Without Manifestations
In 1995 I was trained in deliverance without manifestations.
There is no need to have a noisy, messy, argumentative confrontation with a spirit that is manipulating someone. It is actually possible to effectively remove a malevolent spirit without saying a word out loud.
It is possible to minister deliverance to little children, even, who are displaying signs of violence or anger or lust or whatever, while they are asleep. Done correctly, they would never know, but the parents would by the instantaneous, overnight change in the child's behaviour.
At an outdoor meeting in Tala, Kenya in July 2016, a man who was under the influence of alcohol came forward for ministry. Because every deliverance that I had done previously in the region had been peaceful, I deliberately chose to not take the precaution that ensures deliverance without manifestations, and started to speak quietly over him to remove the spirits that were oppressing him: Addiction, Violence and Anger.
He could not hear me because there was music playing, I was speaking under my breath, and he was at least 4m (13') away from me. However, the spirits knew what I was doing, an 'evil' look came over his face and he suddenly charged at me.
Immediately my interpreter and another pastor grabbed and held him, but just as quickly I told them to let him go because he could not harm me. He was now quiet and peaceful because I had quietly and under my breath dealt with the master spirits that control manifestations. We finished the ministry and he was set free.
Fulfilling expectations
At a daytime, indoor meeting in Utawala in Nairobi, Kenya in September 2017 a woman came forward for ministry during a break. As she approached me she said, "I think I'm going to be sick," meaning, "I'm about to vomit."
"No, you're not," I replied, and of course, she didn't. (A lot of ministries think that the act of vomiting is removing a spirit, but in itself, it isn't.) To be quite honest, as I knelt at her feet to deal with some things that were troubling her I briefly wondered if I was in the firing line but, of course, nothing like that happened.
As I held my hands near her feet, near but not touching, she started swaying back and forth. She was moving close to or past the point of balance as if someone was holding her feet, so I looked up long enough to say, "Stop swaying" and she stopped. (The 'someone' holding her feet was a demonic spirit or two.)
In hindsight I should have asked her if she had witnessed deliverances in other churches. She was quietly set free without any more manifestations - those spirits were un-named but a part of the group that were removed.
At some stage I realised, or God informed me, that "If you expect or encourage manifestations the enemy will provide them in order to put on a show of strength and to demean the person needing delivernce." This could have also been a feature of the no-manifestations deliverance training I received in 1995. It became obvious to me as I ministered in Kenya that the enemy knew that I did not allow manifestations, and so did not attempt to produce them.
After that there were two occasions where someone unexpectedly screamed as a spirit left them, possibly because they had seen that happen elsewhere, or possibly because they did not realise that they themselves had authority over things like that. It's also possible that they had been told that a scream helps to release the demonic spirit, but we find that a simple, deliberate exhale is very effective and peaceful.
On two other occasions the person being ministered to suddenly collapsed. One was a woman sitting in the street in the Nairobi CBD. She explained that her husband, a wealthy man, had treated her with great violence before she left him, and she was unable to see from one of her eyes.
As I ministered healing (she was holding out her hands before God while I spoke to certain things that were afflicting her) she suddenly rolled her head back and became unconscious for about 25 seconds or so. That's often connected with personailty fragmentation due to trauma. When she came to she had no idea who I was, so I quietly asked Holy Spirit to reconnect the fragmented parts that she could handle. Over the course of ten to fifteen seconds she then became aware of her surroundings and what we had been doing, and her non-functioning eye was improved.
In the second instance at Githurai, an outer suburb of Nairobi, a woman had come into the church on crutches. I questioned her about any unresolved disputes and she acknowledged that she had had a dispute with her business partner, a certain Mama Wanjugu. As I took her through a declaration - "Mama Wanjugu, I'm sorry that we had a business dispute, I forgive you for any harm caused to me," - she suddenly screamed and collapsed, unconscious, onto the man sitting next to her as she said the word 'forgive'.
As she lay there unconscious I commanded the enemy to let her go, and she recovered after about twenty seconds. During that time as she was returning to consciousness a man's voice was also attempting to speak from her belly area, but that ceased as I simply commanded Unforgiveness to leave. This time as we took her through the renunciation again she completed it without trouble. Her pain and incapacitation left her, and she walked out later carrying the crutches.
On another occasion, at Ruai, another outer suburb in Nairobi in the opposite direction, a dance troupe leader screamed as I spoke release over her. Since then I regularly say to those attending when we are ministering healing or wholeness that to help 'remove' any spirit or 'issue' that might be present, those receiving from God should just breathe out with a simple but definite 'huh' exhale, and we have not had vocal manifestations since.
